What is CyPass® Micro-Stent?

CyPass® Micro-Stent is a microinvasive glaucoma surgical device that you can have inserted at the time of cataract surgery to help lower your eye pressure. This very small device is positioned just below the surface of the eye after your cataracts are removed and your new lens is placed.

How CyPass® Micro-Stent works

Think of the fluid buildup in your eye as a clogged drain. CyPass® Micro-Stent is like a tiny pipe that keeps the pathway open, so the fluid can drain the way it’s supposed to. The device also has lots of little holes on its surface, to increase the drainage even more.

The benefits of CyPass® Micro-Stent

CyPass® Micro-Stent can help you manage your eye pressure over time and may even reduce your need for topical glaucoma medication.

More than 500 people were included in a large clinical study of CyPass® Micro-Stent. In this study, 374 patients had CyPass® Micro-Stent placed in one eye immediately after their cataract surgery, while 131 had only cataract surgery.
